Holy cannoli. How can one choose between these two? Between them, they've handily destroyed the likes of Tara Reid AND Mary-Kate Olsen, but as much as we'd like them to both somehow emerge from this match winners, there can be BUT ONE.

Such radically different flavors! Chloe like a Thin Mint: dark, serious, sometimes you take a bite and it's amazing, and other times it hasn't fully thawed from the freezer just yet and you chip a tooth. Whereas Bai Ling is your Samoa: she's chewy! She's crunchy! She's multi-colored! She's (coco)nuts!

The Sev has to take the whole enchilada in this competition. Though Bai Ling is a truly worthy competitor (this should be the final matchup in my opinion!), NO ONE can compete with Chloe's absurd fashions, haughty attitude about how amazing she thinks she looks, and her all-around fugness. She's trying to pass it on to all of us via her own fashion line, for fug's sake!! We must annoint her the Queen of Fug, and bow down before her awfulness. That is all.

Bai all the way. With Chloe if you strip an element or two away with each outfit, it isn't so bad. But each and every piece of any of Bai's ensembles is... egregious.
But I suppose we should all be glad she actually wears SOMETHING to cover her girl parts (usually).

I think that it is because Bai Ling is obviously crazy that she should not win this one -- Chloe is less crazy and therefore more consciously fug. She clearly intends to fug. So, Chloe should win based on principle - a crazy fug can't be held (as) accountable for her own fug-ness.

My head. My aching head. Which is worse? Chloe's unbelievable smugness? Or the fact that Bai has clearly tied something to her legs in the second photo? That Chloe has a fashion line, in defiance of all common sense? That Bai somehow can legitimately be described as "famous"?
In the end (and I never thought I would say this), I have to go with Chloe. Nobody could ever possibly be fooled into wearing what Bai wears. (Please, universe, don't teach me humility by proving this statement wrong.) But certain twits in the fashion industry apparently covet Chloe's attention (a certain fashion line that rhymes with "Mimitation of Chlist" springs to mind), so people might actually be fooled into trying to look like her. Hence, my vote for her.

I voted Chloe because, well, besides from the pages of GFY, I don't even know who Bai Ling is or what she has done for humanity (if the "entertainment arts" are considered humanitarian). I suppose I should wiki her, but I don't want it to ruin the thought that she rose to corporate red carpets on fugness alone...and the reason I did not vote for her: she knows she is nothing without her fug. For me, fugness is a mixture of many things...a certain cocktail of passion, ambivalence, ego, esteem, and a slight twinge of insanity. Bai Ling is working on insanity alone. The true fuggers think they're hot enough to start a trend or at least the frontrunners of relatively new trends. For me, Bai Ling is just clowning around...something that most of us are capable of doing. I am giving it to Chloe because she thinks she is the shit. This one is, by far, the hardest to call. As said above, it really should have been the final matchup. Bai is batshit crazy. Chloe is also nuts. It's a matter of which one is actually "fuggier".
Based on the available evidence, it seems to me that Bai Ling is the winner. She revels in her fug. She's always smiling (except when arrested for shoplifting) and she seems like someone who might have a sense of humor about what she wears. But Chloe is just a crosspatch. One of the crabbiest looking people ever.
I'm going with Bai. She would appreciate it.

To my mind, Bai Ling works the fug. Her outfits are horrific, and yet she has style (albeit of a magnificently dreadful variety). There is a relentlessness about Bai Ling's outfits that requires recognition.
Chloe, on the other hand, usually goes out looking like a victim of a bad practical joke. Whether the joke is on her or on us, I'm never entirely sure.
Bai Ling is like an intersection of trash, glamor, and CRAZY. Chloe is more like the intersection of CRAZY, ugly (I just mean the clothes, people, the Sev herself is pretty enough), and depressing.
What it comes down to is that Bai Ling puts a smile on my face, which is what I personally think classic fug should do. Chloe just makes me think about poking my eyes out with a knitting needle.

I gotta go with Chloe, the reason being that I think Bai Ling dresses the way she does for attention (which in my book does not necessarily equal fug - it just equals someone who wants people to look at them for the shock value), whereas Chloe dresses the way she does WITH the full knowledge that along the way some (arguably) misguided people have lauded her as a "fashion icon". Not to mention the whole Imitation of Christ debacle. I feel like she should know better. It is kind of like the Spiderman line - "With great power comes great responsibility". If you are the creative muse for a major design house, you should maybe stay the heck away from the high-waisted pants/shorts, frilly dresses over black turtlenecks, legwarmers, etc.

Okay, PEOPLE!
Bai should take this for one simple reason: she's a nightmare. As in, something made up in a bad dream. At least you can recognize at least one piece of each outfit Chloe wears. Aha! I recognize a coat! Yes! A real, actual coat!
Whereas with Bai, we're left turning to computer screen at strange angles so we can try to figure out what exactly it is that she's wearing. I think she closes her eyes, takes cloth and scissors, cuts randomly, then inserts her head through the biggest hole.
Finally, BAI IS QUEEN OF NIP-SLIPS. or not-slips, depending on the case.

Sevigny wins. She seems to think that she looks amazing, which is fine really. Delusions are nice, and each to her own. But style icon? No. God no. She also seems insufferable and pretentious.
Bai Ling embraces the crazy. She dresses like a stoned club-kid. Its her thing. I've seen several loony elements in alternative clubs that she also wears, altough those clubbers usually look better. I would probably have loads of fun with her at Tech Noir :P

I disagree with the nip slip argument. I chose by trying to imagine either of them in non-fug outfits. I recalled one quiet chic ensemble on Chloe - it was something monochromatic and cashmere, really, I remember. I can not come up with a non-fug visual for Bai Ling.
Also, Chloe is doing it on purpose, to mess with everyone - her fug is very conscious. I think Bai Ling is just a little crazy, I do not think she sees the fug.

I feel that Cloe and Bai are two entirely different flavours of fug. Bai is simply crazy, but Cloe thinks she can dress, and has actually launched a clothing line, comprised entirely of The Fug Girls List of No-No's.
Out of all of Bai Ling's many photo-ops, she doesn't express a sartorial care in the world. Her fashion approach appears to involve closing her eyes, pulling out the first thing her hand reaches in a random mixed bag of clothes and wearing it.
Cloe's interest in fashion implies she does care - but we haven't seen evidence of this. Cloe wins the fugly contest - I wouldn't confuse it with the Code Orange Crazy that is Bai.

1) the Bo-peep wig paired with a flyaway teddy made of pink buddhist prayer flags
2) the NETFLIX costume
3) Bai dressed as a Giorgio perfume box
4) Bai accessorizing with blue leg warmers and... a PELDON. Dudes. Dudesses. She is clearly toying with us.
Now, looking at Sev we have:
1) the black and white curtain dress that nearly blinded me
2) the doily hat
3) OMG, I can't look any more. Her outfits somehow combine a dirtiness and dullness that alliteratively evokes dishwater. Then, when she tries on some color for a change, one always wishes she hadn't, because it's gaudy and looks like it belongs on an 80's junior high schooler trying to look like a nighttime soap star at Winter Formal.

This might be the hardest one yet, but I think it's got to be Chloe in the end. She's so sure that she's IT that it makes me want to puke. Bai Ling is just crazy mad. Plus, I occasionally see a picture of her where she looks ok. That never happens with Chloe. The Sev to win!

Wow. This is the first one I've had true difficulty with. I'm going with Chloe because I think she's serious about the messed up stuff she wears, whereas Bai is just having fun. Plus, a frown, which Chloe always seems to wear, adds to the fug. At least Bai smiles a fair amount of the time.

I hope the winner is a Supreme Diva Goddess of the Fug who will wear her crown proudly, with gold-sequined hotpants and unnatural skin tone. I have agonized over this one for weeks, my friends. We knew this was coming. It was inevitable, like the sun rising in the east. So here we are: Fug-a-Fug. Such epic battles wring great sacrifice and glory to the winner, but nobility to the loser as well. The Odyssey is mere posturing by comparison to the Bai and the Sev.
We who look on, we who can never aspire to heights of fugdom as this, are filled with awe.
In the end, I find that horrible grey jersey jumpsuit inspires me, normally a phlegmatic woman, to grab the Sev's cig and burn her with it. That is true fug artistry for the ages.

If Chloe Sevigny is classical music fug -- can take itself a bit too seriously, but you more or less know going in what you're in for -- then Bai Ling is jazz fug, all free-flowing improvisation, and apt to shoot off in all directions at once. It's like asking an art lover to choose between Leonardo da Vinci and Jackson Pollock (with Courtney Peldon being the Thomas Kinkade in the equation): A truly impossible choice.
I voted for Bai Ling on the strength of that Indian Necktie thing, plus all those nip-slips, but recognize Sevigny's overwhelming fug.

Bai MUST win, if only because she's so obviously trying to look hot in her horrible getup and failing so miserably. Chloe has no such aspirations, and her outfits, misguided though they are, can be found on actual runways. But where Bai finds her wardrobe, if it can be called that, is anyone's guess. It's basically a war between bad couture and bad Wet Seal offerings. The fug has to go to the predominantly tacky mall store.

i voted for the Sev - all the way!! In one photo, Bai is totally rocking the Harajuku punk look and shows she's all about the costume approach. The Sev, despite being so cute in Kids, somehow has morphed into the Fugliest Drag Queen Ever.

For me this is just like the race for the democratic nomination (I can say that because I'm Canadian). Chloe is Hillary and Bai is Barack. I think there's something to the whole arrogance thing going on with Chloe and Hillary, but Barry has my heart and so does Bat-shit-Crazy-Bai.
Also, I think Bai can kick butt against Paris in the next round (at least in the jello-wrestling fantasy fight in my head)...and the prospect of Bai vs either Posh (who will beat Beyonce IMHO) or Sharon is just too delicious to resist!

A challenging choice. Bai is truly unique in the world of fug, but she's never been front row during Fashion Week. So I can only assume that Chloe is not only fugging ridiculous, she's fugging nefarious in her ability to manipulate situations.
